Just puttin' it out there...

Hey my culturally-empowered GL familia,

So like, with the primaries rollin' and the election blogs and convos flowin', I thought I might dare to stir the Gaines-Lampi think tank and get some polysci lit and dialogue goin'

To Wes the admin: Is it ok to walk this political platform since we are in the midst of a race (not much of a race anymore at least with the one party with Senor Obama cleaning up on Sen. Clinton to the tune of 20out of 28 primaries...ay caramba!)

So like here's a link from one of the New York Times journalists and author of "Losing Moses on the Freeway," Chris Hedges :

Just thought it was an interesting article

Interesting article but I think to categorize all Republicans or Christians as intolerant bigots as this guy seems to imply is equally intolerant. There was a good editorial in the NY Times (below) about how the left have no problem "spewing hate" about evangelicals. This dude probably wouldn't have written so slanted an article if he had also attended the Arab American Friendship center with mom.

yeah baby! Great commentary and follow-up article, Wes...anyone else?

Yeah, I mean, I think people in this country are starting to wake up to how BOGUS and BROKE our current partisan system is; we realize we need change and vision. Honestly, look at the huge momentum swing towards Obama from what looked like Hilary's race to lose for the Demos.

I don't know. I can just speak from my only frame of reference which is from education. And when we have every school district in our inner-cities failing to meet every standard and shutting doors because of the that and $, the most fundamental and paramount spring board for the future of our children, and have rich congressmen and women on Capitol Hill spending millions over Steroids and baseball?????? where's the equity or point? It kills me.

Whether it's Sean Hannity from FOX or journalist like that from the original post, people are aware of the garbage that seeps from both sides.

That's why I think there's so much buzz about what Jim Wallis (the Great Awakening) or Amy Wallis (The PArty Faithful-book about religion and the Left) speaking up about .

On that note, would anyone want to do a CYBER BOOK BLOG GROUP with me?

Much love familia

Jefe

Jeff, you just got zinged by your mom! And I'd "watch what you say" about Hannity--I know one Gaines who's a fan.

I don't mind Obama, but I have a hard time believing he's going to sweep in on his magic carpet and flip the system on its head. Then again, maybe he has a better chance than anyone else.

Wait a minute. Did you say "fired up and ready to go"? Isn't that plagiarism?
