Basketball

As I type IU and Purdue are battling it out on the court. Indiana is home to the fiercest basketball fans and this rivalry is especially big this year as the two Indiana Big Ten teams are battling for first in the conference (sorry Sparties, we'll be up Mar 2). Indiana has four teams in the top 25! I'm feeling the March Madness baby!

Yeah, I get real excited when my team wins their games at HOME. It'll be a lot different when Mr. Gordon and "I came to IU to play for Coach" Ralph come up to EL. Oh wait, Ralph's days are numbered...and that program makes ME want to "ralph" all over. It's all tainted to me now. Better off without Knight, huh? I guarantee a W.

here comes a knock on Izzo from Wes...

who's Ralph??

Ralph Sampson? The 7-foot-4 former center of the Houston Rockets taken as the #1 pick of the 1983 NBA Draft?

I think Jeffrey means Kelvin Sampson whose days our numbered. IU best enjoy this run cause they may be going solo to the next few dances.

Ralph, Kelvin, Calvin, Sampson..Simpson (woops) whatever.....I made a minor mistake.......unlike the major one that dude did to IU..and OKLA. I feel for the fans...wait...I'm over it. What happened to Theo Ratliff...I mean A.J.????

I can't believe that Sparty would be knockin IU over coaching decisions. MSU the school that hired Bobby "at least we got to go to Hawaii" Williams, John W. Smith, and the latest (I forgot his name but he picked a fight with Mike Hart after his team's meltdown against the Wolverines). Face it, that cocky troll (Izzo) is all you got Sparty, and don't give me that Tragic Johnson nostalgia!!

oooooh Wes...that UM snob is starting to seep out of your pale finger tips. Alright, come on out of the woodwork anyone and everyone who wants to jump on the "anytime there's criticism towards 'MY' school I bring up MSU football" train...go ahead.

At least Jake who every year gives some love to MSU during this time of the year I can count on for a valid rational thought or commentary related to sports. And at least he sticks to one school for his allegiance..not "oh I like UM fball and another school bball."

The fact of the matter is yes, we have made some pretty poor judgments and decisions in the past, but if this stuffs true about Sampson, it trumps any blemish on record or hire. This is cheating.

And if I can remember, your "other" allegiance had a lil reprieve from the dance right? you may have forgotten that from your flip flop to hoosier ball???

thanks for the reminder, Wes.

Okay fellas...to your corners. Let me take you back to the shores of Leith Lake waters neith the sky above, where we are all Bulldogs and we are all one. Or perhaps to Norman Fieldhouse where you two Bullpups once slapped hands and took down the likes of Muir, Hartland Farms, and where our common foe was not each other but was those pesky J-pups.

All I know is that I now get The Big Ten Network in HD thanks to a weekend upgrade so I look forward to watching it all come down from afar.

So I offer a peace pipe and say may the best team win, and I say, you both better watch out, b/c my boys in maze and blue just won 3 in the row for probably the first time since Louis Bullock and Maceo Baston, including taking down OSU (finally at something!). Prediction: UM makes the Big Dance by taking the Big Ten Tourney in Indy!!! Yeah, I know...California dreamin'.

yes, i am a flip flopper here's my logic:

Counting my Taylor years I've spent over a third of my life as a Hoosier.

I was raised bleeding maize and blue because of Bo, Lloyd, Fisher, Red, the Fab Five, Rumeal in 1989. That all changed when Fisher got canned and UofM B-ball went to crap. And so, you can't live in Indiana without choosing a team (IU, PU, Butler, ND, Valpo...) Sarah's fam are die hard IU fans and so I had no choice but succumb to the Hoosier hysteria.

As for the Colts...really can anyone still support a team that sent the greatest player in NFL history into early retirement b/c the Lions weren't committed to winning? Ford and Millen gotta go.

Fort Wayne is conveniently located between Indy and Detroit, Ann Arbor and Bloomington, I follow my heart!

Now as for my Dad going Sparty in bball...there is no explanation.

Oh man, that peace pipe was was good. I know it wasn't for me, but I snuck a toke. Jeff/Wes you gotta hit this. I am there Jake, Leith Lake, misty waters and G.Reck telling me to get moving as I slack on the mile run. I am there. Join me will you?
