Great article. You deserve all the accolades you receive.
One of my Fuller professors pointed out one day in class that many leaders start well, but fail to finish well. Norm, you are certainly a man who has finished well!
Can I have your job? Only kidding. I am proud to know you and to call you my closest friend (next to my wife). I look forward to spending some of that free time with you.
some comments on the website: Mr. Lampi has always been one of those teachers that I thought about when I reflected on my Maltby years, and wondered...is he still there?...will he be around when my own kids get there? As I had shared a few teachers with my Brighton-raised mother, this is something that I hope for. Sadly, my kids will miss out on this one. I was one of those hormones with feet, and he managed to teach me Bumper Curb and Mailbox tag as well! I think I seriously impressed him with my ability to hit every cone on the driving course while going forward, yet missing each one in reverse! Good Luck to you Mr. Lampi! BAS loses an excellent educator and wonderful friend to students! Laura Zizka-Wright (1983-1986)
another commnet online: What a fun and exciting teacher he was, in the classroom and as a coach... May you have a Blessed retirement.. One of may favorite sayings of his was "Honk Knee" to all of us hormones with feet.. My Regards Mr. Lampi Benjamin J. Rohacs

onnittelu, norman!
(congratulations, norman!)
What an honor! Your students have been lucky to have such a dedicated teacher who still loves his job after 38 years--not everyone can say that.
Thank you for all the nice things you have said. In truth, I owe it all to God. He allowed me to teach.
Thanks, Norm
Proud to call you my friend, Norm.
Well done good and faithful servant!

Way to go Norm!
Hey Norm, how come you did not take my son out of that BB game when I yelled down from the stands to take him out?
What an amazing legacy.
